A vintage GPO (General Post Office) "Call Exchange" Bakelite rotary telephone, manufactured in the United Kingdom between the late 1930s and early 1950s. The pull-out drawer (sometimes called a "cheese tray drawer") and black Bakelite casing are classic features of this period. The dial card is marked "Southampton", with the local number and it has a braided cord. The 'phone is untested.
