An original Surgeon’s Head Mirror from the early 20th-century. An iconic tool of the trade before the age of portable electronics, this concave mirror was designed to reflect ambient light (or a nearby candle/lamp) directly into a surgical site through the central viewing aperture.
This example is in excellent vintage condition, featuring a robust, adjustable genuine leather headband and a nickel-plated ball-and-socket joint that allows for precision positioning, the mirror cover is in place to protect the mirror and is removed by lining up the retaining lug with the groove in the rim. The mirror retains its clarity and silvering, making it an exceptional display piece for a medical professional's office, a historical collection, or as a unique industrial design object.
