Two original French engravings, wall art. Offered as a complementary pair the two prints are original and in good condition. Both are printed on good quality watercolour paper with the plate imprints framing the works. The details are:

'Le Peintre' (The Painter) by Jean-Louis Ernest Meissonier (1815-1891), painted in 1855 and now in the Cleveland Museum of Art. It was printed by Adolphe Alphonse Gery-Bichard, also noted 'Collection de Mr Alex. Dumas fils' (son). We see the back of an 18th century artist working on a picture of a reclining nude. The paper size is 35 x 17.7cm (13.78" x 6.97") and the image size within the plate imprint 23.6 x 16cm (9.29" x 6.3"). Good clean image and paper.

'La Main Chaude' (The Warm Hand) by Ferdinand Roybet (1840-1920), painted in 1894 and now in the Musée Roybet Fould in Courbevoie close to Paris. It was printed by Eugene Decisy (1866-1936). We see a joyous crowd administering a playful smacks, a lively scene. The paper size is 45 x 31.7cm (17.72"x 12.48") and the image size within the plate imprint 18.5 x 16.3cm(7.28"x 6.42"). Good clean image with light marks outside the image and two small tears to the paper border.

The works will be shipped flat.
