A set of 6 antique fine bone china bowls made by Hammersley for Thomas Goode Ltd of Burlington Arcade London. Each bowl is twin handled on a saucer and with a lid, all without cracks or repairs. The white Bone China is heightened with hand applied gold gilding, they are superb examples of timeless design excellence, quality and taste. Each bowl, saucer and lid measures 8.5cm in height, the bowl diameter is 8.8cm and the saucer diameter, 13.8cm. These bowls are of the very finest quality and rare in this condition after such time. The back stamp indicates that they were made after 1912 and before 1932.

 

Hammersley China was a pottery company in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England formed in 1862 that was known for its high-quality bone china and intricate designs, they traded until 1988. Thomas Goode was a china, silverware and glass shop at 19 South Audley Street in Mayfair, London, and later at 66-67 Burlington Arcade, Piccadilly London. It held two royal warrants to supply the British royal household, one from Queen Elizabeth II and the other from the Prince of Wales.
