A collection of original antique documents including:

A handwritten legal document dated 1816 which is an 'award' of land titles in a parcel of land in Finchley, now a London Borough. The land divisions are interestingly allocated in acres, perches and rods. A "perch of land" was a unit of land measurement, equal to a square rod or 25.29 square meters, also sometimes called a "pole" and is based on a surveyor's tool measuring 16.5 feet (or 5.5 yards) long; one acre is made up of 160 perches. The document is beautifully scribed with the lettering clear and precise.

A handwritten 'List of Commons' dated 1732. The 'commons' was an area of land for use by the public. The term originated in feudal England, where the “waste,” or uncultivated land, of a lord's manor could be used for pasture and firewood by his tenants. This list names individuals and is apparently a record of their payments or useage. The document is frail with holes along the crease lines but the text clear.

An eight page conveyance dated 1823 executing the terms of the will of a Mr Charles Hall concerning a parcel of land at Waterfall, Staffordshire.

All four documents are original, they represent a unique and fascinating view of history which would also make an interesting display pieces. The sepia ink used is light sensitive so if framing please display under anti UV glass. The documents will be delivered flat with no more than one fold, or in a postal tube.

Original 200year old documents 18th and early 19th century. Four documents.
