Jacques Pierre Victor Beurdeley (1874–1954) was a French etcher and painter renowned for his landscape artworks. Born in Paris, he honed his artistic skills under the mentorship of Fernand Cormon at the École des Beaux-Arts. Further refining his craft, Beurdeley studied etching techniques with Eugène Carrière and Auguste Delâtre. His artistic journey also included studies in London and extensive travels across Europe, which enriched his perspective and influenced his work. Throughout his career, Beurdeley actively participated in several notable exhibitions. In 1906, he showcased his pieces at the Exposition d'Art Français in Basel. By 1912, his works were featured in the Stedelijke Internationale Tentoonstelling Van Kunstwerken Van Levende Meesters at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. Two years later, in 1914, he exhibited at the Exposition Générale des Beaux-Arts / Salon Triennale in Brussels. Beurdeley's etchings often depict serene landscapes and rural scenes. One such work, "Le pont de Rotterdam," is part of the collection at the Clark Art Institute. Another notable piece, "Les Chàumières dans la Plaine," is housed at the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art. His artworks have also been presented in various auctions. For instance, a group of four prints, including "Le Long des Remparts - Provins" and "Verger au Printemps," were auctioned by Armstrong Fine Art. Additionally, "Meule Près d'une Ferme,".
Beurdeley's contributions to art, especially in etching and painting, reflect his dedication to capturing the essence of landscapes and rural life.
