An extraordinary survivor from the late Victorian era. This cased cutlery set of 12 fish knives and forks (6 pairs) presents in exceptional, near-mint condition, as if it were purchased from a Sheffield showroom in 1894.
Crafted by the renowned Wingfield & Rowbotham, the blades feature exquisite bright-cut floral engravings. Each piece is joined by a Solid Sterling Silver ferrule, hallmarked for Sheffield 1894 by silversmiths William & Yates. The polished bone handles remain bright and free of the typical age-cracks found in sets of this age.
Housed in its original luxury presentation case with a vacant brass cartouche, this set remarkably retains two original working keys in their original paer envelope. It is the perfect heirloom gift for a wedding, a 130th anniversary, or for the host who appreciates the height of Victorian dining etiquette.
