Tools: Three sewing implements with finely carved handles (awl, hook, and bodkin) with decorative leaf-carving detail. Also includes a pair of steel scissors in their original leather sheath. Please note, one item is missing.
Needle Packets: Includes original paper needle packets featuring the "Volans Non Serpens" (Flying, not crawling) registered trade mark, indicating high-quality English steel manufacture.
Presentation: Housed in a dark maroon, gold-tooled hinged box with a vibrant green velvet interior. The upper section features beautiful floral-themed lithograph needle envelopes.
Condition:
The set is in excellent antique condition. The velvet interior remains clean and vibrant. The tools show minor signs of age-appropriate patina, and the paper packets are remarkably well-preserved. A perfect display piece for any collector of sewing history, textiles, or Victorian curiosities.
