An antique toy from the late 19th century a Richter's Anchor Box Building Stones (Anker Steinbaukasten), architectural building blocks set in it's original box and including the booklet for 'Index of contents of the 1st book of designs Series 7. This example is almost complete, the box has lost a strip of wood on one side and it includes the booklet "The 1st book of designs Series 7." The graphics on the lid are a work of art.
Richter's Anchor Stone Building Sets were first produced in 1880. Friedrich Adolf Richter purchased the rights to the building blocks and began production, trademarking them as "Richter's Anchor Stone Building Sets" in 1894. The sets were a popular toy for children and adults for decades, known for their architectural designs and use of stone-like blocks.
