An original signed watercolour by Charlotte Holbert Curling nee Wilson (1808 - 1857), Still Life of Flowers, signed and dated 1850. Charlotte Holbert Wilson (1808–1857) was an English artist known for her delicate watercolour paintings, particularly still lifes featuring flowers. She studied under the renowned landscape painter David Cox.
Born on February 11, 1808, in Denmark Hill, Lambeth, Camberwell, Surrey, England but died in 1857 at the age of 49 and so examples of her work are limited. She was the youngest daughter of Captain Wilson. In 1831, she married Joseph Curling, a furniture printer from Herne Hill.

The painting is exquisite, exhibiting a masterful use of the medium, the colours bright and cheerful; there is a blemish in the background on the right hand side.

Presented framed and glazed under acrylic sheet.  Acrylic sheet is lighter and safer to ship and indistinguishable from glass.
