Superb set of four large size original early‑19th‑century copper‑engraved plates on wove paper, each measuring an impressive 396 x 254 mm (plate size slightly smaller), alive with the instruments and apparatus of Georgian science and technology. Subjects include “Experiments on Fixed Air and other Elastic Fluids” with beautifully rendered glassware and gas‑apparatus, a dramatic mural‑arc and pendulum plate “Engraved for the Supplement,” a complex “Lunetier” plate of optical‑instrument making, and a delightful drawing‑school sheet showing easels, frames and tools for teaching landscape drawing.

The impressions are crisp with fine hatch‑shading and a lovely warm plate tone, printed on good‑quality wove paper that shows the expected light foxing, handling creases and edge wear but nothing that would preclude mounting and framing. The generous margins and clearly visible plate marks give them real presence on the wall and instantly signal their authenticity as period engravings rather than modern reproductions.

These folio‑sized plates are perfect for a library, study or studio, and would particularly appeal to collectors of early chemistry, horology, optics and art‑education history, or to interior designers looking for a coherent group they can frame and hang as a statement. A scarce and highly decorative set of scientific and artistic engravings, kept together as found rather than split and sold individually.

Three engraving measure 396 x 254mm (15.6" x 10") and a fourth slightly smaller at 306 x 228 (12" x 9") these items will be shipped flat.
