Antique glass hip flask, leather wrapped and with a foliate engraved silver plated cup, some wear to the silver plate. Circa 1900-1920. The leather is in unmarked condition with a viewing aperture on each side, the cap flips open but also twists to lock in place when not in use, there is a cork stopper inside the lid. The cup slides on and off comfortably and there is a ridge in the centre of the glass as the divider between the cup and the leather.
A great example of early 20th century sophistication and craftsmanship this distinguished piece captures the essence of a bygone era when gentlemen carried such refined accessories for discrete refreshment, an essential accompaniment to any outdoor sporting pursuit.
