A powerful piece of early 20th-century surgical history. This 19.5cm high-pressure irrigation syringe was manufactured by Down Bros, located at their historic St. Thomas’ Street address in the Borough, London.

Designed for professional clinical use, it features a heavy-duty T-handle plunger, allowing for maximum leverage during irrigation procedures. The original brass maker's plaque is perfectly preserved, marking its origin in the heart of London’s most famous hospital district.

Condition Report:
The instrument has an honest patina, the original chrome plating has almost entirely worn away through years of clinical use and sterilisation, revealing the solid, warm brass construction underneath. The mechanical movement is smooth and robust. A quintessential "Borough" medical antique.
