A pair of antique cased gold filled pince nez glasses marked 'E. Buckingham 51 Stockport Road Levenshulme Manchester' a highly respected Manchester-based firm of opticians. The glasses date from around 1890 and are in very good condition complete with the safety chain. The case is leather wrapped metal with a velvet interior. The bridge interior has the inscription 'GFITS' confirming that they are gold filled, meaning gold over base metal, also a clear indicator of authenticity.
