This piece dates to approximately 1910. It features a solid brass body with a rich, authentic patina and comes housed in its original, hand-finished carrying case with original working key. Also included is a small lens case complete with all original contents, two lenses and a number of original slides, most with specimens and associated descriptions; also included is a copy on parchment paper of an early advertisement for A. Clarkson & Son giving some context. The padded purple silk inside lid falls forward for document storage behind, the same colour, style and material is included in the accessory case inside lid, a nice complement.
