Antique medical Probe with an ebony handle. The top of the handle unscrews to release three probe tips which can each be screwed into the curved shaft when needed. The shaft is silver plated brass. The instrument measures 28cm (11") from the top of the handle to the end of the shaft before a tip is added.

Items such as this are becoming increasingly rare as they were made in very small numbers to the highest quality standards as price was not the primary concern, most good examples are now in museum and private collections.
