Vintage mouth gauge from the 1950's, this item would have been used to hold the patients mouth open during dental work. It has a sliding sleeve toothed locking mechanism to secure the correct position. It is in very good condition and functions. This item is 13cm (5") in length. The catalogue illustration shows a similar item from a catalogue dated 1870.
