Antique cased surgical Laryngoscope set dating from the 19th century. The case is solid chromed nickel, in very good condition. The catalogue page shown is taken from the Arnold & Son catalogue for 1873 which gives a strong clue as to the date of the set. Most of the content appears to be original with some additions but all of similar age. The highlight is surely the Prosser James head band mounted reflector on an adjustable ball and socket but amongst other items four stick mounted round mirrors of graded sizes.
The case measures 23 x 12.3cm (9" x 5").
Medical items such as these were made to the highest quality standards as cost was not the main factor and they were necessarily made in small numbers and so are becoming increasingly rare.
