An original early 20th century oil painting on canvas mounted in a wood and plaster gilt frame, signed indistinctly lower left. A large and imposing work, a wonderful landscape showing an idyllic country cottage and figures in the foreground with the fields rolling out to the distant hills, bright and lively colours; by a competent hand, a charming original work, in good condition, varnished and with craquelure, common with age. The label to the rear is from Bentalls, a well known upmarket department store in Kingston West London opened in 1867.
