A high quality antique writing slope with many features, detailed below. This example is a very high quality and unusual example, it has a quality look and feel to every part of it, the grain and patination throughout are exceptional. Moving to the interior the lid opens to reveal a quilted and padded red silk lining to the lid with a recessed mirror, the front folds open in two sections to create a gilt embossed leather writing surface with various document storage slots and a pen tray above. To the right hand side a small brass button pulls up to release a spring loaded "secret" drawer beneath and to the right hand side.
The key fits the lock but does not open it.
