An antique writing slope, brass bound mahogany also including a dip pen and original inkwells. This is a large box in very good condition, complete and original. The box opens to reveal the leather writing slope, the pen tray includes a dip pen, adjacent to this is a storage recess with lid and at the opposite end, the original silver plated lidded inkwells. A brass pin accessed from the open box, pulls out to release the drawer which slides out from the left hand side base, the drawer contains a small amount of ephemera from a previous owner. The key is original and works the lock.
 
This is a really beautiful and substantial box, an elegant functional item which is decorative too, it is in good functional condition, with beautiful patination, the cartouche is vacant. The lid has a crack and the right hand pull out handle does not sit completely flush.
