A French Kingwood end table with 3 drawers, circa 1920. A really beautiful and original piece of furniture made from Kingwood the classic furniture wood which was the most expensive wood used for furniture making in the seventeenth century; renowned for its striking grain patterns and lustrous finish. The Herring Bone inlays show off this extravagant wood to best advantage. The gently curved edging to the top runs into the curved corners which in turn flow into the serpentine tapered legs, in one piece.  

An artisan piece which would complement a variety of living spaces from classic to contemporary, perhaps as a statement piece beside a sofa or as an accent in a reading nook.
