An Art Deco ceramic tea set, Fox Trott pattern by Sarreguemines of France made in the 1920's. The set comprises a tray cup and saucer, milk jug and sugar bowl, some wear to the gilt edging and a very small chip to the cup rim, some craquelure typical of antique ceramics, otherwise all in good condition with no cracks, breaks or repairs and all ceramic with Sarreguemines backstamps. The tray measures 47 x 28.5cm, the cup 9.7cm in diameter and 7cm high, the saucer 6.5cm in diameter. The colour choise and design so typical of the period, a really beautiful and rare set.
 
The pottery studio in Sarreguemines was established in 1784, when the territory was French. The company originally made earthenware but later produced fine stoneware.
