An antique writing slope including inkwells, a William Mitchell dip pen, a silver button hook, key and an assortment of rare antique documents. The box is brass bound campaign style with a vacant brass cartouche and is in very nice condition, the grain and patina are exceptional. The box opens to reveal the green leather writing slope, the pen tray includes a dip pen and silver handled button hook, one inkwell has a screw top, the other top sits loosely atop the bottle, there is a pull out drawer beneath the pen tray and inkwells. The documents included are from the 19th century, the key fits, but does not work, the lock.
 
This is a really beautiful box, an elegant functional item which is decorative too.
