Antique ear syringe from the 19th century by Charles Thackray. Fashioned from solid metal. The component parts top and bottom unscrew but the plunger moves smoothly up and down. The catalogue page shown is from  Thackray catalogue of the time. 
 
The syringe measures 26.5cm (10.5") in length when closed.
