Antique medical equipment, a Surgeons Instrument Case dating from around 1910 and completely full of the original instruments in three drawers, most of the instruments date from around the same time but some are later and some earlier. The case is marked for Down Brothers and we include an entry from their catalogue of 1910 showing the, very similar, case, one lock works ok, the other does not. The case is leather, the front folding down to reveal the three drawers of instruments. There is a name tag in the lid of the case reading 'K. G. Rotter 27 Wimpole Street, London W1'. The array of instruments in enormous and includes a small Microscope, a very large collection of over instruments, mainly Forceps each with a different specialist purpose but many other items too, please see the two photographs showing all these items, two cases of Suture Needles, one metal, one leather, five metal cased syringes including a Record example, an Allen & Hanbury's metal case including examination mirrors and probes and a small collection of enema accessories including a leather box of smaller components.
The case measures 37 x 30 x 17.5cm (14.56" x 11.81" x 6.89"), (w x h x d) and weighs 7.2kg.
