A small antique pewter syringe, it predates the arrival of the hypodermic syringe by at least half a century. It would have been used for wound and other medical procedures requiring fluid injection or extraction. The syringe measures 14.7cm in length.
 
The syringe easily disassembles and reassembles and all parts appear to be in good working order.
