An antique field syringe also known as a pocket syringe, in a red leather case with a felt interior, dating from around 1870. This is a very neat little piece of medical history and likely to have been for both civilian and military use. The case contains the glass syringe, the plunger retracts easily but is detached from the seat, the plunger is graduated, the glass and casing are in good order, there are two needles and two glass tubes, one corked. The hinge to the case has been repaired internally with a medical plaster.
A beautiful and rare collectable item.
The case measures 8.2cm (3.23") in width.
