A substantial brass compound Microscope by J. R. Prior in it's original mahogany case from 1940. This is a beautiful microscope, appearing to be in good working order. The microscope is a magnificent piece of precision engineering and marked No 8003', the number allowing us to determine the date of manufacture precisely. There is a slide in box shelf with four containers, one containing a lens. The case has it's original key which functions correctly, some minor marks to the paintwork.
The Microscope stands 29.5cm (11.61") high 36cm (14.17") when extended, and the case stands 35cm (14.17") high. This is a substantial item weighing 9.5kg (20.94lbs).
