An antique Holy Bible, almost 200 years old having been published in 1828. Leather bound hardback with embossed gilt lettering and borders, marbled inside boards. The title page reads 'The Holy Bible containing the Old and New Testaments translated out of the original tongues and with the former translations diligently compared and revised by his Majesty's Special Command appointed to be read in the Churches stereotype edition Oxford printed at the Clarendon Press by Samuel Collingwood & Co printers to the University'.
The Bible is in very nice condition, the first few pages are deckle edged, either from wear or design, there is some foxing but clean text throughout and tight binding, aside from some edge scuffing and minor marks the covers are in excellent condition.
There are family records starting in 1831 through to 1979 and some fascinating personal notes.
