A collection of antique dental forceps dating from the 19th and early 20th century, including 9 pairs of dental pliers, some marked for particular teeth as well as two pairs for child dentistry and a rare Perforator, 10 items in total. Most of the collection have markings as follows: "Wood Manchester Wisdom Teeth", "J. Wood & Co York, Upper Roots", "London", "Root teeth", "Weiss London", "Dental Manufacturing Company Ltd". The longest pair are 18cm (7") in length.
The catalogue page including the Perforator is from the Dental Manufacturing Company catalogue for 1912 and shows the exact item offered here, the other page is from the Down Brothers catalogue of 1890 and is included to show the presentation of dental instruments at that time, some of these items are undoubtedly much older.
