Rowing and Punting book from The Badminton Library 1901. The series was originally published in 1885 & 1886 and was a sporting and publishing project conceived and founded by Henry Somerset 8th Duke of Beaufort. It developed into a series of sporting books which aimed to cover all major sports and pastimes. Each volume is written by experts who were considered authorities in their fields. The volume runs to 351 pages.
The book is presented in a uniform publisher's original pictorial cloth binding and is wonderfully illustrated throughout, in good condition, tightly bound and complete and with a personal inscription on the inside cover. The book measures 19.5 x 14.7cm (7.75" x 5.75") and was published by Longmans and Co.
This title was authored by R. R. P. Rowe, C. M. Pitman, P. W. Squire and other writers listed on the title page and generously illustrated with photographs and line illustrations from a number of artists but including Frank Dadd.
